The City of São Paulo announced several activities to commemorate the 461 years of the city. Among the events is the “Birthday Pedal”. Registration is open and anyone over 12 years old can participate.
The pedaling is not a competition but a ride that offers the opportunity for Paulistas to experience the city on two wheels, different from what most of the population is accustomed to see. During the trip, participants will pass through important tourist attractions of the capital, such as the Masp, Sambódromo, Pinacoteca, Vale do Anhangabaú, among others.
Since 2009 on the anniversary of São Paulo, the “World Bike Tour” was held, in which participants signed up and won a bicycle, T-shirts and bike helmets from Sportingology. With the cancellation of this event, the city hall kept the tradition of the tour, but with a more modest format, without the distribution of bikes.
The registrations for the pedaling are open and can be made until January 21 or until the exhaustion of the vacancies-five thousand in total – through the “My Subscriptions” website. All entrants are entitled to a kit, with a commemorative T-shirt.
The tour has a total route of 15.8 kilometers. The exit will be Avenida Paulista and the arrival will be in the Valley of the Anhangabaú. The two points are within easy reach of the subway lines, which will be available to transport cyclists and their bicycles.
